Sherborne Preparatory School, Operation Red Dragon - "Friends around the Globe" challenge raises money for Sherborne Community Kitchen!
At the end of November, 'The Friends of Sherborne Preparatory School' set off on a virtual challenge of 32,400 miles to visit 'Friends Around the Globe'. Visiting Doha, Singapore, Auckland and Tianjin, China we were able to hold virtual assemblies with our friends and learn about our amazing planet on the way. By logging our walks, runs, cycles, swims, rows and even skiing our amazing Team has propelled our schools Red Dragon across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the heat of the Australian outback and the bitter Siberian Winter. In the coming week our intrepid Red Dragon will be coming home after a phenomenal journey without a plane, train or automobile in sight!
Please help us raise £324, 1p/mile, for the amazing Sherborne Community Kitchen who have done such an incredible job looking after our local community in these difficult times.

Florence, a nine year old flutist who played her flute in Sherborne Town Centre to raise money for our charity, met a few of the volunteers of Sherborne Community Kitchen and received a big thank you for her efforts in raising £200. Socially distanced and wearing masks, our volunteers provided Florence with a bunch of flowers and chocolates to say a very big thank you for her efforts.

Sherborne Preparatory School pupils create wonderful Christmas cards for our customers this Christmas Day.
The pupils of Sherborne Preparatory School were busy at work during term time, creating wonderful Christmas cards for us to deliver with our free three course lunches this Christmas day. We are sure our customers will enjoy reading the words written by the children. So we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the students and teachers of Sherborne Preparatory School.

Can you spare a couple of hours on Christmas Day? We are looking for small teams of volunteer Carol Singers to follow along behind one of our 10 drivers delivering up to 12 meals in their “route”.
Ideally we would like 3 Carol Singers for each route: a total of 30. We currently have a handful signed up. The plan is to meet at the Raleigh Hall and then follow ”your” driver as he/she completes their rounds, in another car or cars.
If you love singing and can help bring Christmas Cheer on Christmas Day this year please contact Sherborne Community Kitchen
by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org before 21st December.
